Confined Space Awareness Overview

Confined space areas can be deadly if a worker doesn't know the dangers to look for or the methods used to eliminate the hazards. Workers have died in confined spaces because they couldn't assess the dangers. Entry attendants have died trying to save a worker who has passed out. This “information only” course covers: what is considered a confined space, when an entry permit is required before entering a confined space, how to evaluate the air within a confined space, how to purge the space, what personal protection equipment (PPE's) are to be used, and responsibilities of the attendant - including the right procedure to use if a worker passes out in a confined space. There are no manipulative exercises in this class.
