Residential Framing Techniques

Since we have many members working in single and multi-family residential construction, this training program is designed to help them improve their skills. It is also intended to introduce other members to the particular skills of residential work. We want to introduce our Carpenters to some of the framing "tricks of the trade" and have thm gain awareness of how framing companies increase production by working smarter. This program is presented as a series of five (5) modules to teach the existing work practices of the framing industry. Each module consists of jobsite videos featuring working members, classroom learning, and hands-on practice. The topics covered are 1.) tools, safety, blueprints, and "cheat sheets", 2.) Layout, plate detailing, and hardware, 3.) Framing, shear panels and cut packages, 4.) Joists and Trusses, 5.) Stairs.
