Concrete Formwork Certification

This 40 hour certification class will introduce you to concrete form work and commercial concrete construction methods that are typically used for cast in place concrete structures. This class will focus on the planning, construction, erection, and stripping of a variety of forms. You will be introduced to all of the common types of form material and hardware in use. During the hands-on shop sessions, working from a standard form detail, you will plan, construct, erect, and dismantle single waler wall forms and double waler wall forms using snap ties and snap tie brackets, strongbacks, form liner clamps, and adjustable turnbuckle braces. You will learn how to form openings in concrete walls by building door and window bucks and blockouts that are readily stripped when the concrete is set. You will construct a pilaster form and bulkheads in the wall form. In order to warrant a "certification" rating, this course also includes some class work and testing.
