the Drywall/Lathing Apprenticeship Mission
We are committed to provide the best possible training to the Apprentices and Journeymen in order to meet the current and future needs of the Unionized Northern California Drywall/Lathing Metal Stud Framing Contractors. In order to achieve this goal, we must efficiently manage our resources to provide a proactive and dynamic training environment. A proactive and dynamic training environment is one that:
- Maintains
and improves a professional training staff of coordinators and instructors.
- Processes
documents and records of the individuals accurately and efficiently.
- Continually
and aggressively improves the curriculum.
- Promotes
Safety and quality in all aspects of the training.
- Challenges
and encourages the apprentices and the employees to grow professionally and personally.
- Gives
the apprentice exposure to all possible aspects of the trade.
- Sets
a minimum standard of competence for the certification.
- Provides the appropriate facilities, tools and materials to create the "Job Site" conditions.
Drywall/Lathing Apprenticeship
The Drywall/Lathing Apprenticeship the best of both worlds: paid on-the-job training and related classroom instruction. The goal of our program is full Journeyman certification for the individual who competes the training.
The Drywall/Lathing program is jointly sponsored by the area Carpenter and Lather Locals. As an employee and union member you and your family will be afforded excellent medical, dental and optical coverage as well as vacation and pension plan benefits.
A Drywall/Lather Jorneyman holds the job title of 'Light Gauge Structural Engineer, Drywall and Lath Designer Installer' has the ability to meet the construction needs of California Drywall/Lathers are able to provide the architectural appeal, fire protection, sound protection and structural integrity to houses, office buildings, warehouses, shopping malls, etc.
